There Is a Secret "Magic Formula" for a Healthier, Fitter You

There is indeed a magic formula when it comes to losing weight and getting fitter. In semi-mathematical terms, the magic formula consists of this: C+P+P=S (success).

What does this mean? Consistency + Persistence + Passion = Success.

With those three words you can change yourself, your life, your health and even the world around you.

If you don’t believe me, look at those in your life who are successful at what they do. If they ran a marathon or rode a Century ride, for example, they were consistent in their training. They persisted, even when the odds were against them (rain, snow, heat, illness, life challenges). And they have passion for what they do.

Step outside the fitness world for a moment and take a peek at, let’s say, Steve Jobs. The founder of Apple Computers was consistent (he kept standards and expectations high, while pushing the envelope with technology); he persisted (failure after failure, even when going up, at the time, against computer giant IBM); and he had passion (Jobs wanted to show the world what he felt was a better way to compute and communicate).

Consistency. Persistence. Passion.

If you say the name “Pink,” only one person comes to mind: Alecia Moore, aka Pink. Pink’s ability to instantly sell out huge arenas comes from the same success formula: Consistency (every day she consistently works at her music, her physical training, and all the details that go into a show). She is persistent (despite her detractors, she kept forging forward, marching to her own drum, following her dream). And she has passion...by the boatload.

What could YOU do with the magic formula?

If you exercised just 15 minutes a day (coupled with some longer sessions per week of—let’s say, hmmm—Spinning classes), how much could you benefit your fitness, your weight and your health? Just that little bit of exercise, done consistently over time, would reap huge results.

If you were persistent, making sure that you found time in your schedule (for exercise, a college class or a new skill), eliminating other distractions, not listening to naysayers (“you’ll never be able to…”) what could you accomplish with your life?

If you had a passion for something—exercise, writing, playing guitar, dancing, cooking—what could possibly stand in your way?

Find what’s important to you and apply the “secret formula of three” to it. Consistency. Persistence. Passion.

Do it every day. Don’t give up. And feel the love. You. Can. Do. It.
