Accept the President's Challenge
What began as a youth fitness assessment has evolved into a national series of programs designed to inspire and motivate Americans.
Last
month, the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports
introduced The Adult Fitness Test—a physical assessment test similar to
the Physical Fitness Test offered for children in school.
The test involves four components:
- Aerobic Fitness: 1-mile walk or a 1.5-mile run
- Muscular Strength and Endurance: half sit-up and push-ups
- Flexibility: sit and reach test
- Body Composition: body mass index (BMI)
Enter your results online and you’ll receive a “FITT” score, which provides you with methods of improving in Frequency, Intensity, Time and Type of activities. You’ll also find out where you rank among people of the same age.
