With the launch of Star Trac’s strain-gauge power meter technology, backed by an exclusive power-based training program from Angie Sturtevant, Mad Dogg Athletics unleashes the power of innovation and knowledge with the Spinner® Blade ION and the power-based Spinpower Instructor Certification for certified Spinning instructors.

By incorporating power-based training within your Spinning program, your facility will be able to provide members with:

GET SPINPOWER® CERTIFIED!

Once available only to elite athletes, power meter technology on a bicycle is now being used by a wide variety of people, with diverse objectives. Regardless of your age, gender, fitness level or athletic status, measuring work effort is key to reaching fitness and performance goals. However, simply having or using a power meter won't make you stronger. Without the element of knowledge, the computer is just a gadget and one is simply riding on a bike with a power meter. Understanding what power is and how it is measured will help you to understand the overall principles of power and science-based training. Knowledge is power and power is the science of performance.

Objectives:

  • Learn the benefits of power-based training
  • Learn how to train and coach with power-based training on the Spinner® Blade ION
  • Learn the Spinpower® Zones and how to conduct a Personal Spinning Threshold (PST) test
  • Learn how to create Spinpower rides

Certified Spinning® Instructors:

  • Attend the Spinpower® workshop that will teach you how to train and coach with power. 
  • After the workshop, study at your own pace and take the online assessment. 
  • Certified Spinning Instructors receive the Spinpower Instructor Certification upon successful completion of the online assessment. 
  • Receive ACE, AFAA and NASM continuing education credits (CECs). 
  • Certification is valid for two years from the date of the Spinpower workshop.

Fitness and Cycling Professionals

  • The Spinpower workshop is open to any fitness or cycling professional who want to teach and coach indoor cycling participants how to train with power. 
  • Receive ACE, AFAA and NASM continuing education credits (CECs).

Warranty: Frame is covered for 10 years from the date of purchase for structural failure. Additionally, the Spinner® Blade ION frame is warrantied for five (5) years from the date of purchase against build-up and propagation of rust. Power/Watts Computer, Flywheel and Generator Assembly, Brake Knob Assembly, Handle Bar Assembly, Seat Post and Foot Adjustments are covered for three (3) years from the date of purchase. Handle Bar Post Plastic Sleeve, Seat Post Plastic Sleeve, Bottom Bracket Assembly, Seat Saddle Assembly and Pop-Pin Assembly, are covered for two (2) years for the date of purchase. Pedals, Chain, Brake Pad Assembly, Rubber Frame Guard, Brass Brake Nut and remaining parts are covered for one (1) year from the date of purchase. An advance warranty replacement kit of wear items is included, consisting of: one (1) brake pad and two (2) pedal straps.
